New HR Kiosk
We have been given the following message from the Fire Emergency New Zealand Communications Team:
This is to let you know that the national roll out of Fire and Emergency New Zealand’s new HR Kiosk (called Home Base) was completed on Tuesday and is now available to both paid and volunteer personnel. Home Base is an online system that lets personnel, depending on their role, view their payslips, request leave online, view current and future leave balances, and manage some personal details.
The system was piloted with the People & Capability team, Taranaki/Ruapehu/Whanganui Rural Fire District, Auckland City and Christchurch Metro which provided some good feedback for future enhancements. The Home Base Working Group agreed that the rollout to personnel in each business unit would be best managed by Managers or their delegates. We have deployed the system org unit-by-org unit as each unit signs off that we have set up reporting lines accurately. As each unit has been moved onto Home Base, we have emailed the unit manager with information to pass on to their people.
We have also provided information to all our people about the roll out being completed which you are welcome to share with your members:
- News article on home page of the Portal – https://portal.fireandemergency.nz/notices-news-and-events/news/home-base-nat-rollout-done/
- Fact sheet – https://portal.fireandemergency.nz/assets/FENZ-documents/Factsheet-HomeBase-May18-FINAL.pdf
- More information about the Home Base project (and other work we’re doing as part of the integration) is available on the Portal – https://portal.fireandemergency.nz/projects-and-programmes/integration-phase/workstreams/infrastructure/home-base/
Home Base is one of our first fully integrated ICT systems to be rolled out and replaces the employee HR Kiosk that our paid personnel have been using up to now. The HR Kiosk was turned off on 2 May 2018 as Home Base is the one system we will all be using from now on to view human resources information.
Please be aware that Home Base will be off line between this morning and Saturday afternoon while we upgrade the HR/Payroll system so it also runs on a modern platform. The pay run will go ahead today regardless, and employees will be able to see their pay slips on Monday, at the latest.
